Twitter is a micro blogging platform thru which we can spread our 140 char messages to the world , which seems to be very powerful and most effective. You should go thru some of my earlier articles related to twitter to know more about it.

Follow the leaders
As per my belief, its absolutely correct to follow the leaders, and understand how they are doing things also identify the mistakes they make , correct it and move forward. If you take examples many of the ‘twitterers‘ who have huge number of followers do tweet on a very regular basis and they tweet tips which are useful for others , they retweet the useful information. Make sure that we are not just using twitter to promote our own product or service. It should be for sharing the information as well.
Be Personal.
Always be personal when we tweet a message so that it will build up a personal relation with all our followers. And this encourage users to follow us.

Don’t be hesitant to follow anyone whom you thing to be interesting,

Genuinely respond to the followers.
Get a Twitter desktop client.
As I told earlier, we need to genuinely respond to the followers and update the group regularly , its always good to have a desktop client. TweetDeck (http://www.tweetdeck.com/) is one of the excellent utility I would recommend. This AIR application works on Windows , MAC and Linux.
Mobile twitter.
Also be on twitter even when you are traveling , so be on m.twitter.com , who knows when you will get a new idea which can be shared with your followers, so be always connected
Integrate twitter to your blog.
Always let your readers know,how many followers you have , which are your latest tweets and more . There are few hundreds of plugins and tools available for this.One which I could recommend is AlexKing’s Twitter tool.
